R.P.: Question for New Yorkers who have been in New York City since the 80’s or were there at that time?
Ok. New York City Television is known for the high amount of local TV commercials. I remember a series of local commercials that were(are) made for a fashion/clothing/boutique store in NYC.
These commercials were well made. They had good visual quality, style, models, music and graphic art…not like so many of the other cheesy looking local commercials with poor lighting, bad acting and an extremely loud soundtrack.
TO THE POINT–> Does anyone know/remember the name of that NYC store?
I’m getting a hint that it might be Bloomingdale’s, but I doubt it. The reason I need to know is so that I may do a google search for one of their commercials. The commercial I’m looking for shows a woman(model) in a park (I’m guessing is Central Park) skipping up some steps while the back ground music is “There Goes My Baby” but is not by “The Drifters”, it sounds like it was recorded by a session jazz band.

@ Cathy– ???
It might be Syms, Macys or Century 21. If it was Gimbels, A&S, Korvettes or Alexanders, they’re all gone now.
