Can you help me with this question about customs?
I’m shipping two really cheap paintings (19.99 euros and 29.99 euros) from Paris, France to Orlando, Florida, USA via UPS or La Poste. I don’t have the receipts for the paintings, but they still have the price tags on them. Do you think I’ll have a problem with customs? Can I just go ahead and wrap the paintings, take them to UPS, and claim a total price of 50 euros? What obstacles might I encounter? Thanks in advance for any help.

Edited to add: The price tags will be covered by the bubble wrap, cardboard, paper… I don’t really know what the process here is. Will Customs unwrap my packages if they want to look for the price tags and then re-wrap them?

Hi, no, I truly believe there won’t be any problem. I’ve mailed tons of stuff internationally over the years, and never had any problems. The prices of the painting are below the limits for what you can import to the US duty free as a tourist (i.e. not a businessperson), and I’m not aware of any U.S. import restrictions of cheap paintings.
I think you can safely take them to UPS (or La Poste) and ship them off!!!
